Sustainability not only helps to reduce pollution, but it also protects natural resources like air and water.
The Rainworth Group is making a few modifications to ensure we achieve our sustainability goals and contribute to a greener future.
Updates to car servicing procedures
Both our sites will no longer wash your car when brought in for a service.
This is due to the amount of wastewater produced from car washing.
How much water will we be saving?
We’ve worked it out:
Saving over 1,165,000 litres of water per year
But that’s not all.
A substantial amount of electricity is used for vacuuming and jet washing cars.
5,380.2kWh of electricity per year could be saved by stopping car service valets, the equivalent of two average UK households.
Finally, by stopping car service washes, we will also be reducing the amount of cleaning chemicals released into our waste streams.
Investing in renewable energy sources
Not only does our Mansfield showroom stock a wide range of hybrid and electric vehicles, but it also uses energy generated by solar power technology on site.
We’ve invested £52,000 to have solar panels installed on our Mansfield site’s roof.
Solar panels cover 90.76% of our Mansfield site’s electricity demand.
These are some of the steps we are taking to help reduce our water and energy consumption and minimise our carbon footprint.
